Engelbert Humperdink 號稱英國貓王,不宜列入美國音樂.

Engelbert Humperdink 生於印度,成長於英國, 縱橫樂壇40年, 由於他的歌聲極具磁性與感性,唱起情歌有無比的感傷與浪漫;

醇美略帶鼻腔共鳴的嗓音,獨備男性魅力,因此被封為英國貓王, 浪漫之王,和永遠的情歌王子.

1968年,Engelbert受邀在白金漢宮在女王伊莉莎白二世伉儷麾前演唱,並獲女王召見,當時英國樂壇僅披頭四能有此殊榮,可見其在英國樂壇的地位.

Engelbert Humperdink創下不少紀錄, 像 The last waltz當初一上市就拿下金唱片,並連拿7週排行榜冠軍;

截至目前為止, 唱片銷售量超過一億三千萬張唱片，包括64張金唱片和24張白金唱片!

如此出名的英國巨星,把他列在美國音樂,我個人認為相當不妥.

我是高中時期大約1977年開始接觸他的音樂, 2006年6月Engelbert首次來台開演唱會,風靡了3,4,5年級生.


如matt所言, 最後華爾滋,腳踏車華士,慕情.....等等,是出於他的名曲.  但是用的版本不同,味道就差很多.

以往習慣用的是他第一版的編曲, 例如,最後華爾滋, 之後的版本,旋律依舊,味道總是覺得差了那麼一點點;

另外,腳踏車華士也是一樣, 編曲一改,味道就差那一點.

以下列出各曲初版時間,(只列跟土風舞有關的專輯唱片,和比較有知名度的老歌專輯,其他的不列.),  其他年度出版大多有經過改編,曲風會有不同.

題外話, 我曾經跟很多土友聊過,包括老中青都有,

早期的舞名取的真的很有學問, 我最常舉的例子就是"慕情", A Man without Love, 你能連想得到嗎?

這應該是楊昌雄老師取的吧, 我不太確定. 因為後來有包志揚老師修改過動作,有沒有因此動到舞名,不知道.

現在取舞名當然也偶有佳作, 但大家也知道,大都直譯或音譯,那種意境,真的差很多厚.:smile20

備考:

土風舞"慕情"音樂出自 弦歌唱片 C.C.S.第39集(唱片編號1039), 版本同Engelbert Humperdink 1968年第一版.
土風舞"腳踏車華士"出自弦歌唱片 C.C.S.第11集(唱片編號1011), 版本同Engelbert Humperdink 1969年第一版
最後華士: 老舞是用演奏版, 後來包括我在內,引用歌唱版.  後來不知道誰編了現在這個新的舞法, (對不起,我沒學過,真的不知道是哪位老師編的)
用的音樂也不是1967年版的原曲,用的是另外的合唱曲,不可考.
