我覺得用 Dingyun FDC 較好,直接音譯比較容易中英連結在一起,否則解釋起來比較不容易.

If possible, let's come up with a name with meaning instead of direct phonetic translation. We've lots of opportunities here talking with Americans, They always ask "what is that..." when I mentioned something like "Dingyun..."

Maybe Florence has ideas... She came up with the original name, and has literature background.... Maybe there are something representing dancing, friendship, fun... words or phrases in the literature we could use....

三個建議:

trio -- 三重奏 or 三部合唱;

tripod -- 也可以指"鼎", e.g. 泛指三隻腳的(台子或架子, such as 三腳架); "ipod"正好也是當紅的音樂器材...

troika -- (俄)三匹馬拉的馬車; 好像有一條土風舞"小馬群"就是這個字, 誰可以查一下?
