Long time ago, a plane took off from airport at 23:00 pm, my heart went onto unknown. By the time the coach arrived at Cambridge, I did not realize that my life was walking into a dreamed-land. Believed it or not, I kept on my post-graduated studying on art. Come on, me?! Florence?! Studying?! Unblievable!!!!

When I finished studying in England, I had a chance to work in New Zealand. So, I went to it, but the job didn't do any good to me. What could I do? Well, I went on studying again. Only this time I studied on education, which is my most favourite subject.

After worked at college in New Zealand, I took myself off again to London. Guess what?! I was back on studying..... Hard working for a year, I got my international certification to be a qualified Montessori Kindergarten Directress. How Amazing!!!

Few years after been practiced my profession in Taiwan, I decided to go to US for more professional studying. Milwaukee, a beautiful place, still recalled me a lot of happy memory, till now.

While I was so happy teaching at a public primary school, I found that there placed one obligation from my father to me before he passed away - offering what I can to my hometown. Guessing where is my hometown? Yeah!!!! You are right. Very smart!!!

It is Putian city at Fujian provience in China, my father's hometown. How did I end up in China? I am here teaching English-American Literature and Western Culture at Putian University to fulfil my father's will.

Life experiences in England , New Zealand and US has inspired me to open not only my eyes but my soul. My life took off and totally changed at the night the plane did. Am I happy here? Tell you what, I never had one second doubted it.

Teaching is my favourite job, so I threw myself into it. From Kindergarten, Primary to University I think I am very good at this job. I love teaching and I love my students (kids) too.

I always believed that "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." written by A. Einstein. My life in those years is nothing special as I've mentioned. I have just tried very hard to make myself to be needed to someone.
That is about what I have done for the years. Pretty boring, isn't it. But full of fun.

人類的需求中最高的是自我成長的需求,就像Florence說的,做一個被需要的人.在土風舞圈子這麼久了,以往都是自己跳得高興就好.去年開始建立個人部落格後,開始整理一些資料放上去.原先只想作為週五班複習的參考,後來舞友鼓勵愈來愈多,花在整理資料的時間跟著增加.
目前已有網誌2565篇,整個點閱人氣快突破十萬人次(其實第一次的影片原先有2萬多人次,後來轉移到Youtube被我清光後歸零,否則早已超過),應該是目前華人土風舞最受歡迎的網站.
現在我膝蓋受傷後,跳舞的量被迫減少了,但花在蒐集整理資料的時間更多了,也是覺得花我一個人的時間,卻有很多的舞友可以受益,而我在華人土風舞圈也獲得很好的名聲,其實蠻值得的.

Thank Florence for what you brought us

Florence来我们学校,影响了很多人! 为学校,为学生做了很多的贡献,最显而易见的就是土风舞社的创立!! 很多学生因为Florence和土风舞都感到很幸运能来到莆田学院就读!(因为是刚起步的本科大学,相对于其他学校,有很多地方还有待提高,所以许多学生刚进莆田学院时,会有一些情绪!)

我觉得在这样一个普通的本科大学里,能有比知名重点大学的老师还优秀的老师,有其他知名重点大学所没有的优秀社团,真的一点都不后悔!!

Million thanks to Florence for everything you taught us and brought us!

Just one last dance, before we say goodbye......

Dear Florence,

What can I say! I'm really touched. Not many people possess such kindness and determination as you do. You're truely amazing. I'm so glad that you're doing something you love. Wish I could do that too. I feel blessed if I can live through the day, let alone be needed to someone. People say "everything happens for a reason." I'm still trying to figure out what the meaning of life is.

Folk-dancing is a term far away from me. We don't have (or I should say, not that I know of) any club where I live. Thanks to Internet and efforts by SY and other friends, I got a chance to relive something I used to like. Can't actually dance or join parties, but seeing video clips, hearing familiar music, and knowing what friends are doing are a great pleasure to me. My dream is to go back and dance with friends someday!

I'm going to say that again, your kids are blessed to have you there! Wish everything is well and enjoy your teaching!

P.S. I know what you meant by having a lot of happy memory in Milwaukee. We visited a couple there three years ago. May visit them again in the summer, if we can get away from work.

Dear tpchen,
The meaning of life is to be simple, and to be simple means a lot of happiness.

I found that if I don't ask for more, then I always feel very happy.

Especially now I am with a lot of good kids here. (Sometimes they are quite naughty. They are trying too much to find me a Putian guy, just for keeping me here.

Very silly thinking, really.) We are sharing life experience together. It's really fun. Hoping one day I can bring my kids with me and dance with all my friends, that will be really lovely.

Milwaukee is a very beautiful place. Please do go to visit it again. And enjoy the simple, peaceful beauty for me, please.

I don't think I'll have any chance to go back myself. Thanks a lot.
